Our desire is to see the nations come to faith in Christ and grow as disciples of Christ who make more disciples. Explore tools for helping the new believers from non-Christian backgrounds discover the truths of the Bible and grow strong in following Christ and making disciples.
Lesson One
We like to use this tool from a colleague in India as our first discipleship lesson. There are several important truths that this captures. First, Jesus now has all the authority, and they no longer follow the faith, teachings, holy books, or idols that they once did. Second, as disciples, they both grow as disciples in learning to follow and obey and also go as disciples to make more disciples. Third, baptism is an important step for those who choose to follo Jesus, even if they are not ready to obey immediately. Fourth, they rely on the Bible / the teachings of Jesus to lead them and guide them. Finally, they have assurance that Jesus is with them to sustain them even in the face of persecution. Short Term Discipleship
It is important to continue to followup with new believers to help them develop a strong foundation for faith in Christ and growth in following and obeying Him. We find that Discovery Bible Study is the best tool for discipleship, helping them dig into the Word of God for themselves and discover what the Lord has to say. See our page on Bible Study for more details on how to do it. We recommend the Commands of Christ set available through the Discovery App or as a PDF download in English from our partners from No Place Left.

For ongoing, long term discipleship, we recommend reading through the Gospel of Luke, the Gospel of John, Romans, and Hebrews to help build a solid understanding of who Jesus is and what his deaeth for us means both eternally and our life on earth.
